Current research on the Jewish community indicates that informal Jewish experiences such as Shabbaton weekends and trips have a significant impact on Jewish identity. Temple Beth Sholom values the importance of informal Jewish education and highly subsidizes many of these experiences for our students. We highly encourage all students in 3rd-12th grades to participate in a Jewish camping/traveling experience each school year. Many of our students participate in the following experiences each year.
3rd-7th Graders Community Shabbaton with the Orange County Bureau of Jewish Education
8th Grade Retreat Weekend at Camp Hess Kramer
10th Grade Confirmation Retreat in Joshua Tree
11th and 12th Grade Post Confirmation Trip to New York City
Orange County BJE’s TALIT Nation Programs (9th-12th Grades)
Orange County BJE’s TIES Trip to Israel (9th-12th Grades)
NFTy Socal Weekends (9th-12th Grades)
