Camp Session Information

SESSION 1: Storytelling Summer
Arts, Culture, Creativity, Imagination, Expression

This session celebrates the power of stories — the ones we inherit, the ones we create, and the ones we live together. Through art, drama, music, culture, and collaborative projects, campers will explore what it means to find their voice and build something meaningful as a community, and as we enter this new chapter of Camp Sholom.

  • Week 1: “Finding Our Cast & Our Voice”
    Focus: bonding, imagination, creative confidence
Campers will build their teams, design flags and cheers, experiment with improv and skit creation, explore Israeli dance and global Jewish music, and dive into hands-on art and invention challenges.
Our goal: helping every camper feel seen, heard, and brave enough to try something new.
  • Week 2: “Building the World & Taking the Stage”
    Focus: narrative, teamwork, showcasing growth
As confidence grows, campers will collaborate on larger projects and prepare for our Camp Sholom Showcase celebration. Expect immersive adventure games, creative builds, performance opportunities, and high-energy whole-camp ruach (spirit).
Our goal: turning imagination into shared accomplishment.

SESSION 2: Midsummer Maccabiah
Sports, STEM, Movement, Science, Friendly Competition

We are athletes, scientists, builders, and teammates — strengthening body and mind together.
This session combines movement, experimentation, and teamwork through sports rotations, engineering challenges, water science, and our camp-wide Maccabiah games. Jewish values like gevurah (strength), achdut (unity), and derech eretz (respectful conduct) guide our competition and collaboration.

  • Week 1: “Training & Experimentation”
    Focus: skills, teamwork, curiosity
Campers will rotate through mini-Olympics events, obstacle courses, STEM builds, water and bubble experiments, and outdoor exploration.

  • Week 2: “Competition, Collaboration & Color War”
    Focus: teamwork, leadership, celebration
The energy builds toward our legendary Color War finale — a joyful, high-ruach celebration of everything we’ve learned.
