Through lecture, film and discussion, the participant will develop an understanding of two conditions that are highly recognizable in all social and learning settings, but rarely understood. The first two sessions will focus on the psycho social biological characteristics of individuals on the Autism Spectrum (ASD) with an emphasis on sensory differences. The last two sessions will address the genetic condition of Down Syndrome. All sessions will focus on the life-long affects of each condition from birth through adulthood, as well as the challenges of living with these conditions in our society today.
