Innovative Services

Cultural and Musical Shabbats - Friday nights at TBS are spiritually and intellectually uplifting experiences. Whether it's a special lecture on art, literature, politics or one of our Shir Shabbat musical celebrations, you'll be sure to enjoy the variety at TBS.

Monthly Family Services - Young families will appreciate the early timing of our special family services on the first Friday of every month.

Shabbat under the Stars – Summertime services begin with fruit and cheese, followed by a 6 p.m. service in our Sukkah Plaza. Join your family and friends and bring a picnic dinner to enjoy after services.

Other Programs

Jewish Film Series -- TBS brings you outstanding Jewish films from around the world and film industry experts to share their views every year. Look for details in the mail and in Kol Sholom.

Chavurah – Are you looking for an extended family to get together and celebrate holidays? Then the Chavurah program may be for you. These friendship circles form during the fall and sometimes stay together for many years.

Retreats – Join us for education programs outside the walls of the Temple. Our annual congregational retreat takes place in January, and there are retreats for students of all ages under the auspices of the Temple and/or the Orange County Bureau of Jewish Education.

Ambassadors - Please fill out our survey to help us with this new membership program and help welcome new TBS Members.

Outreach at TBS - If you are new to Judaism, considering conversion, in an Interfaith relationship or reinforcing your Jewish identity, the TBS Outreach family has a place for you. The Goal of TBS Outreach is to make individuals and families feel welcome and comfortable in synagogue life. The New Beginnings workshop, facilitated by an Outreach Fellow, is designed to familiarize you with Jewish practices and concepts and help you incorporate them into your daily life.

You might enjoy participating in our Mentors program. We will assign a "buddy" to welcome you and include you in our TBS family. This can include enjoying a Shabbat dinner together, attending Shabbat services or visiting the Skirball Museum.

Individual and group support sessions for Interfaith relationships are available on an "as needed" basis. Your confidentiality is respected at all times.

Our Outreach Program offers a variety of holiday workshops throughout the year, as well as the "What, When & Why of Sanctuary Liturgy and Choreography."
