April is thrilled to make her debut as Director of Camp Sholom this summer. She is looking forward to working with Camp Sholom campers and their families to create memorable experiences. During the year, April serves as Director of Youth, Camp, and Temple Programming.

Assistant Director
Josh Friedman is looking forward to his first summer at Camp Sholom. During the year he is a musician, producer, composer and educator. He loves to spend time outdoors and work with kids, and he is looking forward to making many great memories in the summer of 2008! |

Nate Hennagin,
Ruach Director/Songleader
Nate has extensive Jewish youth, camp and songleading experience. A Sophomore at George Washington University, he spends his spare time in our nation's capital working weekends at the Religious Action Center and songleading at Washington Hebrew Congregation. Nate is excited to "Come Home to Camp Sholom"! |

Sara Fox,
Drama Specialist
Sara grew up at Camp Sholom and is excited to return as a staff member. Sara attends USC as a theatrical design major and has won numerous awards for her creative talent. In addition to Sara’s theatrical experience, she is a licensed rescue life-guard and cosmetologist!

Matt Duncan,
Sports Specialist
Matt Duncan is thrilled to be back for another summer at Camp Sholom. During the year he is a full-time college student who spends much of his time working with youth at Temple Beth Sholom’s Religious School and the Bureau of Jewish Education. |

Sarah will be joining Camp Sholom for her first summer as our creative, enthusiastic, art specialist. Sarah has been an active staff member for the Orange County Bureau of Jewish Education and will be attending San Francisco State University this fall. |

Adam Chester,
Rishonim Counselor
Adam is returning to Camp Sholom for his second summer as a Rishonim counselor. He loves spending time entertaining the little ones and they love him! This fall Adam will be a Senior at Esperanza High School. |

Becca Grossberg,
Rishonim Counselor
Becca is coming to Camp Sholom for her first summer as a counselor after being a super-star volunteer last year. Becca has been attending Camp Sholom since Kindergarten. You might recognize her from Temple Beth Sholom’s Religious School, where she works as a Lapid. This fall Becca will be a Senior at Capo Valley High School. |

Juliet Schwartz,
Rishonim Counselor
Juliet will be a Senior at Esperanza High, grew up at Camp Sholom and will be returning this summer for her second time as a counselor. Juliet is very invested in our camp and the youth programs at Temple Beth Sholom. She volunteers at the Temple Beth Sholom Religious School and will serve as President of OCTY (TBS’s High School Youth Group) for the 2008-2009 school year. |

Kelsey has been attending Camp Sholom every summer since she was in Kindergarten and will be returning for her second summer as a Rishonim counselor. Kelsey has worked as a Lapid at Temple Beth Sholom’s Religious School and will be attending University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA this fall. |

Cameron Vaughter,
Chalutzim Counselor
Cameron has been attending Camp Sholom since he was in Kindergarten. He will be returning this summer for his second year as a counselor. Cameron is very invested in our camp and the youth programs at Temple Beth Sholom. You will recognize him from Temple Beth Sholom’s Religious School, where he works as a Lapid. This fall Cameron will be a Senior at El Modena High School.

Chalutzim Counselor
Shana has attended Camp Sholom since the age of 4 years old is returning for her third year as a counselor. In addition to working well with children, Shana is a talented opera singer who will be attending the San Francisco Conservatory of Music this fall.

Sydney Sherman,
Chalutzim Jr. Counselor
Sydney grew up at Camp Sholom and is thrilled to begin her first summer as a Jr. Counselor. Last summer she served as one of our awesome volunteers. Sydney will be a junior at Troy High School in Fullerton. She is looking forward to spending her summer at TBS.

Habonim Counselor
Dustin returns to Camp Sholom as a Habonim counselor for the second summer. He is a talented guitarist who has also worked with youth at Gindling Hilltop Camp and the Bureau of Jewish Education. This fall Dustin will be a sophomore at Sonoma State University.

Mark Schwartz,
Habonim Jr. Counselor
Mark is a familiar face at Camp Sholom and is thrilled to join the staff after being a volunteer last summer. He has volunteered as a Temple Beth Sholom Religious School madrich and has also worked as a math tutor. Mark will be a Junior at Esperanza High School this fall.

Mimi Winston,
Habonim/Special Needs Counselor
Throughout high school, college and post-college years, Mimi was actively involved in the Bureau of Jewish Education's Adat Noar and T.A.L.I.T programs. She has 10 years experience working with children (k-12) as a camp counselor, religious school teacher, instructional assistant, and substitute teacher. Mimi is really looking forward to a fun filled summer at Camp Sholom!
